Dombrandt is likely to play, if only because he's the de facto
club captain given Steph's injuries.

I suspect he will, would just like to see us freshen a couple of
things up. Part thinking, while Chisholm is fit and playing
well, use that to ease Dombrandts workload (on the basis
Chisholm may break at any time)
I also have the worry of how we get on after the "high" of the
big game. Hope there is no hangover from that which can happen.

Looking at the fixtures this weekend, this is our chance to get
the 5 and jump into the Top 4 as others will take points off of
the rivals and with only a 3 point spread across the Top 6, I'd
be nervous of risking that chance. We have two weeks of Europe
after this and then Marcus will be away with England so I would
have played him. Different if jEV were fit but the 2 Woods 4
Quarters boys said they'd spoken to him and he felt February was
realistic.

The problem is, Newcastle have been unlucky not to pick up a win
so far, and I had this down as a banana skin over the Gloucester
game, which it certainly will if we make massive changes.
Lets get Lynagh back in the side, Cameron can cover wing/FB from
the bench.

So with Marcus being rested and Jev injured it looks like
Edwards will start.
We know game management tends to be Edwards weakness so I'd
definitely be starting DC to take some of the pressure off and
I'd be looking to put out lots of heavy hitters. The more front
foot ball we have the less game management Edwards will have to
do.

Maybe an idea would be to start Edwards at #10 and Slevin at
#15.
May seem a bit risky - but, I really rate Slevin's goal kicking.
(Whereas I think that Edwards is waek at kicking from the tee.)
. . .and, I am not convinced that we have really nailed down
our #15 position. All options appear to have weaknesses.

Actually, looking at the photo, maybe it is Whitley Bay after
all 😁

Glaws had lost 9 games on the bounce, and looked close to a
Quinsesque come back
Falcons looked good against Sarries looking at the highlights
Would hope we still have eyes on champs cup and resting a few
key players
I’m not expecting a big result in Kingston park

Didn’t Salarycens rest a load of players against Falcons, which
may have made them look better than they are. It will be an
interesting squad announcement tomorrow if picking Anderson to
start his first game for the club at BG15 is an indication that
some more fringe players could get some game time. Wonder
whether the artificial pitch is a factor for selection too.
