Yeah, injuries do seem to stack up.
Re the Centre of Excellence, didnt they recently beat Exeter
75-0?? We do seem to have some good youngsters, Shalliker looks
rapid on the wing and Heyret has impressed when given a chance.
My frustration comes from how poor we are. We havent been
unlucky, we have been completely outplayed. Our basics skills
are lacking. There are some good teams around now but our
performances just not good enough. Rugby basics seem to have
deserted us. Turner and the coaches have a huge job.
The top 3 are miles ahead of the rest. If we can get our act
together its still between us and Bristol for 4th spot imho.

Now that all the Womens Prem teams are closely associated with
Prem clubs the resources are more evenly spread. Clubs like
Richmond (who lost all of their major talent to Quins) , DMP and
Waterloo could never compete with Quins and Saracens who put the
effort and finances into the Women’s game. Thus those two teams
dominated the first three seasons of the Women’s Premiership
competition. The rise of womens rugby has made other top clubs
who can afford the costs of running a female squad realise that
you need to attract the top talent to make it worthwhile. This
has led to a much more even league because the best players are
spread around a lot more. There is a salary cap but I’ve heard
that it’s only “advisable” so looking at the squads you might
get an idea who might be keeping to it or not.
While it might not be good for us and we are struggling
this year, the bigger picture is far better overall. Nobody
wants to see uncompetitive one sided games and I’m far more
likely to bother with watching a game that doesn’t involve Quins
than I have been before.

Guinness WR is as exposed to ESG as any other business. "Strict
rules" lol. If they were strict they would never allow this,
it's a mockery. Imagine if some club game between 2 womens'
sides in NZ actually attracted 10k fans on its own merits.
Actual paying fans.

No, just count them both at individual games.
The corporate jolly is there because of the men's game, not the
other way round.
I'm sure you're stubborn enough to suggest that as many would go
to the same corporate jolly if the red roses were playing.

This is like arguing "but for that forward pass (that the ref
didn't see/give) we would have won". The answer is whatever the
reason, this was another record and ought to be celebrated as
such. The requirement is "is there a bum on that seat?", it
doesn't care if the reason is "we love women's rugby" or "we
drove up from Exeter and allowed a good deal of time in case of
traffic problems". If Saracens win because they played better or
they're a cheating bunch of bar stewards, the history books show
they have X amount of championships awarded to them - however
much we'd like to see Exeter claim the win. It's a figure. It's
a fact. Get over it.

Not at all, of course there's bigger corporate jollies for the
men's game. I just don't think that people's intention for
attending should change the count of whether they attended or
not.
