How many other teams have this concept of a big game though?
I'll be amazed if Ticketmaster have actually fixed it.

It’s ‘obviously’ a lack of testing by Quins/Ticketmaster as this
has now happened every time since TM was engaged as the Quins
ticketing service, rather poor IMHO.
They manage to get it resolved quickly once they get complaints,
I’d say someone has forgotten to tick a configuration box……..

It’s not about the Big Game, though, it’s about allowing only
certain classes of user access to certain classes of ticket.
From the 1 ticket at a time workaround, and from how quickly
they fixed it, it looks to me as if it was a config issue around
when eligibility was checked.
My guess is that they initially set it up to check eligibility
after each action, which was why it would work with one ticket
but not with multiple (because one ticket would always be
wrong), and instead changed it to check only when someone hit
the continue button - which would allow you to complete the
reallocation of all the tickets before triggering the check.

So why does it need fixing for every big game if it’s that
simple? And why is £0.00 an invalid amount for a free purchase.
Every time. I might believe it’ll be fixed the first time but,
as toast says, when it happens every year for years it seems
clear the issue is never properly resolved.

I can only speculate, but my best guess is:
a) the default in the system is to check each time and they
haven't updated the setup procedures to change that each time
they do the event. They ought to be able to get this right but
it looks like someone got sloppy on the setup.
b) because the process is badly designed. It asks for payment
method before asking for some things that also cost money (eg
donations, postage) so it needs a valid payment method in place
but won't accept Quins credit because it's set to recognise zero
as an invalid amount. Can't see this one being fixed any time
soon, as it's a pretty major change. But that's on Ticketmaster,
not the club

Not sure what I’m doing right but booked 20 seats for 7
different members and it couldn’t have been easier.
You just click on the seats and assign any price category you
want - makes no difference.
Then when you go to basket screen you can re-assign every ticket
and choose which price (ie £0.00 for members or the members
discount or full price)
Each member listed can only have one £0 and two discounted
tickets against their name.
And if you try to book a non premium member in a premium area it
won’t let you unless you have logged in as them.

Yeah, I think you're a bit late to the party.

The key thing, it seems is not to assign a seat to a premier
member until you're on the basket screen. We should probably
make it sticky

That sounds like a great idea but who wants a sticky seat
🤢

When I couldn't get it to work that wouldn't have worked either.
There was no way to progress with both assigned to me but the
reassignment wouldn't work either.
At some point, possibly because I changed my rights to Assign
from Manage (which I thought covered both), it worked fine - but
then I came up against the £0.00 isn't a valid amount issue.
I'm sure it's worked fine previously however I'm also sure the
problems yesterday have occurred before. I don't usually react
quickly to these events so if it's worked previously it's
probably because I didn't try until enough people had complained
and Ticketmaster had sorted it out. I just wish they'd sort it
for good.
