come up against an RFU “jobsworth” you might have an argument on
your hands and you won’t win ! Best solution at a winter game
is to wear your backpack UNDER your big winter coat and you
won’t be challenged. Whatever “justification” they come up with
in terms of “security” or “health & safety” the reality is they
don’t want you to sneak in food & drink so you are forced to buy
it inside the ground at ridiculously inflated prices … once
inside you will see plenty of people wearing backpacks who have
clearly not been challenged … it’s the luck of the draw I’m
afraid

Erm, well the bag rule is to stop people blowing up a stadium
full of people like they did in Manchester, which is when it was
introduced.
So that’s the “justification” for the “security” to keep your
“health and safety” intact.
But yes there are issues where people can’t read clear
instructions and bring bags bigger than A4 - sadly some of them
get let in.

That’s complete rubbish because so few people are actually
challenged and the ones who get through could easily be the
“bombers” … if you are going to the game
tomorrow count up the number of people who get through
“security” without their bags being taken off them
… then report back later … I won’t hold my
breath !
If the RFU were serious about the “security” angle
then it would need to be a 100% check rate and the queues would
stretch for miles !

No bag drop is in operation today. All bags to be searched. It’s
the inconsistency that annoys people.

Why do you need to take a bag to a rugby game?
What is in the bag?

They could speed up entry with arch scanners. How well you are
searched is down to the individual.
