Certainly not intentional, if terrible technique. Otherwise the
ref was pretty consistent: Toulouse just played him better.

Intention isn't relevant on the high tackle. Poor technique is
precisely what they're supposedly trying to get out of the game

I think the constant desire to dink the ball through/over needs
to be considered. We’re just giving the ball away on our own
attacks, often in decent positions. We need patience. It didn’t
work all through the first half (bar one line out we got as
their clearance kick was poor). Not just Marcus but Wev, Andre,
green. It’s like it was a primary tactic…but didn’t work at any
point as they always had a sweeper.
Toulouse were very good and at times I thought we were
committed, but the broken attacking play we had was poor.
Bad day at the office against an excellent team. Regroup and go
again vs bath.

Can anyone shed any light on why only a yellow for the tackle on
Lamb? As always, comms in the stadium non-existent. From the few
replays it looked like their 12 didn't wrap and drove his
shoulder upwards into the tackle. Difficult to see what the
mitigation was.
Tough game today. We deserved a try bonus point but not to be.
Toulouse are a class outfit and to be honest I felt they always
has another gear if needed.
DuPont and Ramos pure class at times today.

Just got home, pretty much second best in all positions today,
Toulouse a very classy outfit and a well deserved win. Pity we
couldn`t get over the line for a bonus point try.

It was deemed to be a passive tackle - seemingly mainly because
the Toulouse player went backwards

Thanks Yareet.
Interesting interpretation from the officiating team. I will
need to see it again. Lamb was on him quickly and whilst I don't
think it was in any way malicious, it looked to me like he
stepped forward into the tackle rather than stepping back and
absorbing the hit (which I would consider passive).

We just couldn’t live with them. They’re a great team, so no
shame in that. Though it’s disappointing to not play to our
ability.
Thought the head on head was a clear red card. Even if I thought
it was a passive tackle, which I don’t, for me that’s not nearly
enough mitigation for what was clearly a highly dangerous
‘tackle’.
But we move on. 2 games left, against Cardiff and Ulster. Win
both of those and we go through, at worst, 3rd in the group (I
think… still getting my head round this new format). I’ll take
that.

Ultimately Quins are miles apart from teams like
Toulouse/Leinster etc, so whilst we might get the odd great
result like last weekend, there is still a clear gulf overall
which is why we rarely make a dent in this competition.
