HARLEQUINS TO FACE URC CHAMPIONS MUNSTER
Harlequins will face 2022/23 United Rugby Championship Champions
Munster in an exciting exhibition clash at The Stoop on Friday
23 February (KO 19:45).
The match has been scheduled during the Gallagher Premiership’s
break during the Guinness Six Nations with no league matches
taking place. Harlequins will use the match to maintain vital
fitness levels and to prepare the squad for the end of season
run in of regular fixtures.
Taking place under the iconic Friday Night Lights at The Stoop,
the match will see Quins field their strongest possible squad
against a Munster side who secured the URC title last season
with a 14-19 win over the DHL Stormers.
Harlequins CEO Laurie Dalrymple commented: “We’re delighted to
announce this blockbuster match against Munster in February.
There’s always something very special about Friday nights at The
Stoop and we’re looking forward to facing a strong Munster
outfit and welcoming their passionate and vocal supporters to
London.
“It’s also a fantastic opportunity to welcome another club
partnering with our Principal Partner DHL to The Stoop and we’re
looking forward to working with DHL and Munster to bring to life
some exciting matchday plans. Being a Friday night supporters
can expect plenty of pre-match entertainment, with a spectacular
lights and pyro display, alongside an unmissable game of rugby.”
The match will be the first time Quins have hosted Munster at
The Stoop since the 2012/13 Champions Cup Quarter-Final. On that
day Munster came back from 9-6 at half-time to secure a
thrilling 12-18 win in front of a sold-out Stoop crowd.
Harlequins 2023/24 Season Ticket Members will be able to attend
February’s match against Munster for free as part of their

I can read this post different ways.
- are you referring to the 12/13 game in which a lot of people
seemingly sold all of their tickets on to Munster fans?
- or are you meaning that there will be no resale as it is a
non-league game? (which I must confess, I didn't realise. I
thought that resale was based upon the game selling out.)
- or something else

I can't imagine that the club would not allow resale of a seat
(with the usual conditions) for this game. They want as many
backsides on seats, eating & drinking from the concessions etc
as possible.

not going to lie - I have a couple of Munster supporting friends
- just sent them this link, and potentially they want 12 spaces
- at £15 a ticket - its obv priced to fill out stadium, and then
the f&b revenue...
A great idea I think

I'm referring to the fact that this is, I assume, an attempt to
make up for a season ticket having 2 fewer games. However, since
you need to claim your ticket there can be no resale. You either
attend or not.
Personally, I think a game like this without internationals from
both teams is rubbish. But they know Friday night games are
popular with people not usually bothered about rugby but who
live locally and fancy some entertainment to go with their 15
pints and a curry.
As I don't live locally Friday games are a pain anyway so I'll
just have to settle for the beer and curry. And a poor value
season ticket. 😁

Are you sure about the "claim your ticket" bit?
I haven't seen anything about that in the email. It just says
that I can buy additional tickets.

I read it as season ticket holders being able to purchase
additional tickets for a week.

Which is precisely what is stated in the email from the club.
