Friday night

Is it too early to start the chat about Friday?
As ever, I’ll assume that the home team will win any game
between Quins and Sale although that belief has been severely
tested over the past couple of years.
Over the last couple of weeks, we seem to be playing in third
gear. We’ve managed to dog out wins but only against weakened
oppo. If we play like we have been, you lot will run riot over
us.
And as Murley says on the 2 Woods pod, your propensity to go
wide is perfect for countering our aggressive narrow D.
I’m also not sure what team we’ll bring. Some players have had a
lot of minutes recently and with Europe coming up, we may rest
the likes of Warr and RdP.
All that said, I’ll be in North stand with my brother so
there’ll be at least 2 Sale fans there. We may be the only 2….

No....not too early.
You are top of the table for a reason and we sit mid-table for a
reason. We'll be pleased to trouser some points. Shame about
Tom Curry as I was looking forward to seeing him play.
This fixture always reminds of a game at the Stoop, maybe around
2004, where Mark Evans decided to counter the Sale back three -
possibly Mark Cueto, Jason Robinson and Steve Hanley? - by
narrowing the pitch to limit the threat. We narrowed the pitch
but spent the whole game kicking to your back three , chased
shadows and shipped 40 points! It was painful but Sale were
ruthless. We also played the theme from Coronation Street when
you ran out.....that idea was humanely put down some years ago
thankfully.

Although looking at the weather forecast, I think a few of us

The main thing Quins need to focus on is the stupid mistakes,
and being more street smart. (IE things like Murley giving a
penalty away last week, where the subsequent lineout they scored
off).
Hopefully for once our attack clicks and looks fluid as opposed
to stop start.
If Hammond is in need of a rest, id start Launchbury and Lamb in
the second row, with CCS at 6. That's a lot more heft which
probably is needed against Sale
