Cadan Murley has been named in the Harlequins squad for Friday
night's Gallagher Premiership match against Northampton Saints
at Franklin's Gardens (KO 19:45 - live on TNT Sports).
The 2022/23 top try scorer, who scored 15 tries in 18 matches,
has overcome injury and will make his first Premiership
appearance of the season. The Harlequins Academy product will
start on the right wing alongside Louis Lynagh, with Tyrone
Green shifting to fullback.
The forward pack features three changes for the trip to
Northampton. Fin Baxter returns to the Starting XV at loosehead
with Dillon Lewis making his first start for Quins at tighthead.
South African Irne Herbst returns to the starting side to
partner George Hammond at second-row. The back-row combination
of Dino Lamb, Will Evans and captain Alex Dombrandt continues
for the fourth consecutive match.
In the backs, Danny Care starts at scrum-half alongside Marcus
Smith. Andre Esterhuizen resumes at inside centre following his
impressive try last week. The Springbok partners outside centre
Will Joseph who makes his second Premiership start of the
season.
Amongst the Impact Players, Academy hooker Nathan Jibulu, props
Santiago Garcia Botta and Lovejoy Chawatama make their return to
the Quins 23. Elsewhere, Chandler Cunningham-South and James
Chisholm provide plenty of depth, alongside replacement backs
Will Porter, Jarrod Evans and Oscar Beard.
Director of Rugby Billy Millard commented: “Northampton are
always tough and we know we need to be at our best. The boys
have worked hard to prepare for this match and we’re looking
forward to the challenge.”

Guessing JM is rested as per the post RWC rules?
But miffed about Launchbury and Collier seemingly rested as they
aren't "unavailable". Good to have Murley back though

Given Launchbury’s age and injury record, I’m pleased with
choosing to rest him rather than an enforced change. Collier
looked pretty uncomfortable coming off last week, I assumed he
had picked up an injury.
I wonder if we’ll see Lewies before the start of the new year.

Big game required from Green. Great to see Murley back and much
happier with Joseph at 13. This will be a real test of our
defence.

That backline and backs bench is about as good as it gets,
hopefully we get a dry track to let them loose.
Odd that Botta and Lovejoy are named on the bench with neither
Marler and Collier involved or named as unavailable, though
Saints have had plenty of front row problems so I'm sure they'll
do they job for us

For me, our first choice backline (accepting that Joseph needs
to show more over a longer period to eclipse Northmore) and not
surprised about Marler & Launch. Great to see Irne back, might
have considered moving Lamb up to the 'row' and let CCS have a
roam.
Despite all the build up, we're denied the 'battle of the
Smiths'. Marcus needs to get last week out of his system so
let's hope he has reset his head.
Should be a good game!

Joe Marler looked as if he wasn't fully mobile v Saracens. It is
unlikely he would go off early v Saracens if at 100%. Will
Collier got injured in the game. Great to see Cadan back and
Will Joseph starting. I am surprised Sam Riley is not in the 23.

Well, those tackle bags won't move themselves.
But the best bit of news, Sara Cox is reffing so at least it'll
be a fair game
