It's not wise to assume that new supporters won't just get
hooked on the game itself, as we older fans did. Also, as
people's playing time ends, they often start to go to more
games. It's a cycle.
And if course, not all younger people want to see the same live
acts.

Question? How many of us on here never played rugby?

I’ve never played rugby. Unless you count standing on the wing
getting cold at school or four sessions of touch a few years
ago. Always watched it though.

Used to throw a rugby ball round a bit during playtime at
primary school.
Even had my own rugby ball. But, never played in a proper game.
I preferred racquet sports in my younger days.

Played for decades. I was an absolute legend, at least in my own
imagination.

Hey dudes, some of this banter is a bit unfair. Joel Corry has
had a couple of good songs and is a music producer so has a lot
of knowledge and networks on music coming down the pipeline. It
will be fine.

The idea is that young people tend to go to events with a group
of friends, rather than on their own or with their families.
Obviously, the chances of someone's entire friend group being
into rugby already is pretty low, so headline acts like this act
as leverage for people to convince their friends to pick up
tickets - and hopefully some of them start watching more
regularly. Basically, nobody's expecting young people to say "I
never watch rugby, but an act I like is doing a 20 minute set
before a game so I'm going to get tickets", however they might
say "My mates are all going to this game, and I'm not really
into rugby but there's an act I like before the game so I'll at
least get something out of going with them"

Likewise. I am still the fastest runner and my kicking success
rate is still 100%
