The Capital Xmas ball is directed at screaching 16-year olds,
isn't it (or is that the Jingle Bells Ball?)?

Fans of Geordie Shore will remember that Joel had an on/off
relationship with Sophie in the earlier seasons. Pleased to see
he's made it to the big time

The people you are with might be grateful of a break from talk
of how talking pictures ruined a night out at the theatre.
Thankfully the sort of people rugby needs to show up to keep the
sport from a certain death are the ones who love loud music
during a sporting spectacle and it’s exactly their idea of
       entertainment.

Should we ban old people and those who enjoy conversation, for
the good of the game? 🤷

I disagree. I think rugby has, for a good while now, neglected
its core and loyal fan base in favour of chasing 'growth' with a
younger audience. More recent generations have shorter attention
spans, more options and less loyalty. Rugby needs to cater first
and foremost to the consumers it already has!

And what happens to rugby as that generation of supporters stop
supporting for whatever reason (retiring to another part of the
       country, ill health, death)?
Even if rugby’s “core and loyal” supporters were immortal and
100% loyal (and they’re neither), the game does not have a big
enough supporter base to be sustainable. To survive, it has to
find new supporters and by definition that means appealing to a
       new demographic.
