Not American at all, Twickenham born and bred. My English
teacher always picked up on the adding of t to words that
should have had ed at the end. Burnt or should I say burned was
one of them. Another modern thing that amuses me is when things
are “ so fun” or “worser” . What has happened to the English
language!!?

I got 21. Some of the ones I missed I should have guessed, but
had no idea about Waterloo or Liverpool St Helens

That's just added two points for the next punters! I'm old so I
remembered a few of the obscure ones and got 24.

I remember now that it was the word learnt that started this
off at school. No such word. I even looked it up in the
dictionary and it wasn’t there. Learned was the correct spelling
. This led to discussion about various words being spelled
wrongly ( is that another one) . Then again the English language
is full of rules that are broken for no particular reason.
Anyway, back to the topic. How many of these clubs have
been adversely affected by their stint in the top flight. It’s
almost as if it’s a poisoned challis for them.

Learnt? Exists now and can be traced back to Shakespeare at
least. How old are you? 😁
