It's not as top-heavy as it used to be. No guys like Radradra,
Piutau, Morahan, and instead it seems like a pretty well rounded
squad.

Apart from when we had bye weeks due to clubs going bust, when
has there ever been a break in the season, no breaks for the
AI's nor the 6 nations, even when the introduction of these cup
games for "A" team or development games, the season has always
been played through to an end. Of course those clubs who get
knocked out of the European Cup games early might get a week off
towards the end of the season, which is when Briz always got
time off. [emoji2]

There must have been breaks at some point. 22 league matches
plus 9 European matches leaves 21 weeks with either no rugby or
an A team cup game.
Edit: forgot the play-offs but that still leaves 19 weeks.

Very geekily, I've gone through the 2018-19 season (the last one
pre-Covid). There really wasn't a week off from 21st August 2018
until 18th May 2019. Admittedly not every team every week as
there were knockout rounds for the Euro comps and the PRC but
they were the only breaks.

played. Certainly the greatest game I’ve attended live.
