Not strange at all. Newcastle had plenty of possession in good
areas, particularly in the first half, but we showed patience
and didn't give up cheap penalties.
As you say, hopefully this is now embedded in the players. The
upcoming Leicester and Sarries will give us a good idea if our
       defence is now genuinely meaner.

Marcus was being tackled at the moment of the kick so personally
I think the whole thing was marvellous.

It only fell apart while Lamb was in the bin, when we were back
to 8 vs 8 our scrum was on top again

It was a front row who’d never played together before, and my
guess is that it also took them a couple of goes to settle. It
settled when Jibulu came on, though I don’t know how much that
was a factor. Either way, he’s looking like a very serious
prospect; I just hope he doesn’t suffer one of the “drummer in
Spinal Tap” fates that so often seem to affect our hookers.

over it. You might argue he could have kick it a yard shorter,
but that would mean the ball getting there earlier so Tyrone
wouldn't have got there. So next bit would be holding a fraction
of a second then kicking to allow Tyrone more time, well look at
reply and you'll see how he taken out the second he kicks it, so
that wasn't an option. Maybe possibly, he could have kicked it
higher for more hang time to give Tyrone a yard but really?

The perfect length kick is one the winger can just run onto,
catch, and score. As long as it beats the defender then that's
fine - right on the touchline was totally unnecessary there,
ditto it being so deep in the goal area.
As you and others have said, he was tackled when he made the
kick so whatever, but the ball could've gone less deep, so
Tyrone could've caught it on or before the try line.

It’s interesting, If he tried that for England, I doubt Daly
would have got there, and everyone would be laying into Marcus.
At least for us it came off

A very satisfactory result and performance in general yesterday.
We kept Carreras and Radwan quiet and played some lovely stuff
ourselves, and that's when you consider that there's a large
number of first choice players to come back into the side.

When Lenny got his body under the first possible falcons try and
then turned over the ball a few minutes later when they were
right on our tryline, I thought to myself that I am pleased that
we didn't send him to London Scottish and decided to send MQ
       instead.

Yep, I thought Lenny had a great game. Those two great
interventions you mentioned plus he put in some real hard yards
through contact in the midfield. Sadly I don't think there's
anywhere that produces player stats for prem games anymore so we
       can't see his carries/meters/tackles.
