Looks as if there is talk of a 24k to 26k stadium.

This proposed site is about a mile from my house and the idea is
utterly bonkers!
There's no local interest in Rugby, no public transport, the
roads wouldn't support more than a few thousand visitors and
even if they do get off the ground wouldn't they have to start
at the bottom of the pyramid now?

Kent is in Sarries catchment area. Nick Tompkins is probably the
most recognisable Sarries graduate to come through Kent schools
route.

It’s a dreadful location isn’t it?
Opposite the tip though… I mean it’s next to the M25, M20
junction but that’s congested regardless, let alone having a
proposed 20+k stadium there. It’s a solid mile and a bit to
Swanley station and the buses are non existent. As mentioned,
naff all pubs within walking distance unless you fancy a mile or
so schlep up the A20. The area already suffers with Brands Hatch
traffic so I can’t see too many locals being keen.
Then I remember that Pedham Place golf club has been rumoured to
be turned into housing almost since it was opened… this now kind
of makes sense doesn’t it?

I just can't see it happening.
I also can't see Prem Rugby and RFU allowing it to happen,
unless it's rock solid and totally financially stable which it
absolutely won't be no matter what statements they're coming out
with publicly.

In further news - and showing they're almost certainly not far
advanced with the realities of anything... the 'threat' of
joining the URC and replacing a Welsh region (should one drop
out) has come up.

themselves of the delights of the Lullingstone Castle in Swanley
town centre....
