The highlight package reel of that period is basically the long
pass for Daly to score against Wales in the last minute.

Well done #495 for actually remembering the one thing, I'd be at
a loss for that. Had a guy behind me in Marseille who was
getting very irate about the Farrell booing and the hump with
me when I exhaled loudly when he kicked away a 4 man overlap.
Denied he was a Sarries fan, but kept cheering their players!!!

From the Dublin media elite perhaps. I'm married into an Irish
family and have a pretty good gauge of expectations. The general
view being the draw was massively stacked against them and the
SA group game, NZ quarter-final and final (if they got there,
and assuming France or SA in the final) would all be 50/50 flip
of the coin games. So odds on them losing a tight game and so it
proved.
Sexton is a bad loser and his attempts to 'influence' refs is
highly irritating but you could lump him in with a number of
10's in that regard including Farrell and Biggar.

Agreed. Freeman looks a real player.
Also been impressed by Carpenter at Sale whenever I've seen him.
Probably needs a few more prem starts under his belt first.
Whatever the outcome of the World Cup a fresh start. I really
hope we don't limp into the 6N with Farrell, May, Billy etc. all
clinging on.
Lots of talent in the Prem which Eddie failed to blood (and
Borthers in the last 6N).

I believe Borthwick was hamstrung by the PRL/RFU agreement which
restricts the number of changes that can be made to the England
squad. Can't remember the details.

For the next 4 years, we need to move Freddie S to 12. He is
huge and runs good lines. He is too slow for FB.

Wishful thinking for Freddie, but I dont think he will
considering Tigers are well stocked in the centres so I don't
see a need for them to try anything different.
Other nations seem to be better at developing 12's than us,
particularly ones to take over from the job Manu does. I can't
help but feel if say Sam Simmonds played rugby in SA, he would
be a 12 rather than an 8.

To be fair, that was what Sam Burgess was being lined up to do,
but he wasn't helped by the way Bath played him in the back row
while England wanted him as a centre.
