The only thing better than the NZ / Ireland match was possibly
       France v South Africa.

Can't wait for England to lower the tone.
Ireland, France, SA, NZ...all playing great toe to toe rugby
with some great flair/lines ran, where anyone could have won.
England? Will be shunted off the park, probably have Curry sent
off again (No where near international standard now), Farrell
shoulder charge someone and get binned, May bounced off tackles,
       Daly...not sure..

I'd love to see a stat for May this world cup. Metres run
       forward vs metres run sideways

He really is awful now. What is worse, is that we knew this
before the world cup. He isn't quick enough, is lightweight and
       his positioning defensively is suspect.
Daly isn't good enough at any one position for the international
stage, certainly anymore at least. His only contributions appear
to be kicking for a lineout. Instead of May/Daly/Malins, lets
       actually get some players in.
Having seen him play most games in the RWC now, I'm not
convinced Mitchell really justifies his spot.
For the 6 nations as a backline I'd be happy to try
       9. Warr
       10. Ford/Smith
       11. Murley
       12. Kelly
       13. Lawrence
       14. Freeman
       15. Hodge
Hodge could be a bolter if he continues going as he is. Freeman
I think is solid and offers more, certainly in the Malins role
of wing/FB cover. Arundell possibly if selection allows though.

I'd like to see Freeman get a run at 15 for England in the
not-too-distant - he has all the attributes and IQ to nail down
that shirt for the long haul. Hodge has raw pace but needs to
develop a much more rounded game before being anywhere near the
       international arena.

I think the thing that might go against him for FB is that
Saints mostly employ him on the wing. Ideally if I was to have a
FB for England, i'd want him playing that position week in week
out. Being a master at the position is better than someone who
"can play". As cover 100% though, and could yet be a good bench
option, but certainly has done more than Malins.

I may have misunderstood but doesn’t that post contradict
       itself?
Malins hasn’t had any time as a regular 15 - and has now moved
clubs to nail down the spot.
If I’ve understood your argument correctly, with more time at
15, Malins could be a more viable option but so far he hasn’t
had the same opportunities you want for Freeman.

Not really. Malins was utilised by Saracens mostly as a winger,
with Goode at FB, so it’s fair to say he played the majority of
his club rugby in the position he was then expected to play on
       the international stage.
He may be a success for Bristol at FB, and may get a look in,
but that’s almost a clean slate.
My point was I’m against players playing the majority of their
club time in one position, but thrust into another for
international duty. IE Faz chucked at 12, which never worked.

It did for a period. Depends how you define "worked" I guess but
we did go on that long winning streak with him at 12 (I think).
Perhaps it was despite him not working at 12 rather than because
       of it though.

I think Farrell benefitted from so many other players also being
at the peak of things in that 2019 period. Now those players
       have become more tired/ineffectual
(Itoje/Curry/Youngs/Tuilagi/BV/May etc) he has been exposed a
bit more. His individual highlight reel on the biggest stages
probably would be a bit thin on the ground if you took out goal
kicking. His tackling one would be a good watch though
