Rugby life in France : Kane Palma-Newport Interview

Interview I did with K N-P the other night about life in France,
all things French rugby and his departure from Bath.
Might be of some interest in this quiet week and a good waste of
5 minutes, hopefully gives some insight into the PRO D2
especially. Appreciate he's a Bathonian but hopefully you still
enjoy.

That was really interesting. It's all worth a read, but I was
struck by this part:
Officiating compared to the Premiership
“I truly believe that in the Premiership we’ve got the best
referees in the world, there’s open communication with the RPA
and with Premiership Rugby about what’s going to be officiated
and how the referees are being trained.
“If you really want to you can look and see how the referees
were reviewed themselves the previous weekend, what they did
well/badly and what they’ve been working on. You actually get to
know them and where their strengths and weaknesses lie.

Interesting to get the perspective of a player from the French
second tier. He certainly sounds like he’s making the most of
it, which is great. Several mentions of the bakery, so it could
only be a prop ;)
I remember seeing Colomiers play at home to Bath on the same
weekend as Quins played in Montauban which was a great rugby
weekend. It’s a lovely part of France to live in with passionate
rugby fans, so good luck to him.
