Is this based on knowledge or just hope?
Other than the members open day he's not appeared anywhere so
far, so I'm assuming he's broken. Why wouldn't you give him more
game time ahead of the Prem than just one run out v the BaaBaas?

There's a bit of history for taking a while to integrate backs
in particular into the game... anyone remember when we spent
half a season wondering if we'd ever see some kid called Tyrone
Green in the quarters? Two appearances on the wing, three or
four tries and a red/Brown card later and he's the nailed on
       starting fullback.
Going the other way, Huw Jones was dropped in quite early
because of injuries and was panned for his first few games
because he wasn't on the team's wavelength. Once he settled in
he quickly became one of those players we were sad to see leave.
Quins have the luxury at the moment of a near fully fit squad,
but also a lot of players returning from long term injury. Looks
to me that they are prioritising match fitness for the players
who already know the system, and taking the time to get Evans up
to speed with how Quins play.

Do we think David will hold on to the 15 shirt for the start of
the prem season? Because Tyrone has been off the pace so far and
we all know what David gives our attacking game, but I was
slightly concerned about Nick under the high ball on Sunday, as
he knocked on several times even when he was under little or no
       pressure.

True, but he had a superb season last year and never worried
about him in that way. It's 100% his shirt at the moment I
       think.

       Fair point I guess. My Welsh mates (I know, I know..I shouldn't
really) were singing Evans praises when we signed him so looking
forward to seeing how it goes.

He was due to play yesterday, but had a slight hip issue. He
told me he should be playing next week. My assumption was tha it
will be against the BaaBaas not Nottingham.

Two important things for a Fullback to do. Catch the ball and
make those last ditch tackles. As good as he is in attack, those
areas of David's game keep him as a bench option for me.

I'm inclined to agree - I can't remember him missing many
tackles, and looking on the offy David and Green both have
tackle completion in the 68-70% range over the full seasons
they've played. But David isn't quite as secure under the high
ball as Green or Brown were before him, so a fully fit Green
would be my first choice fullback.
(As an aside, I looked up Mike Brown on the Tigers offy to see
if they had tackle stats for him by comparison, given he's one
of the best defensive fullbacks around. I didn't find tackle
stats, but he has apparently been secretly playing a couple of
games a year for Leicester since the 2014/15 season. Who knew?

Well, he did turn the ball over up there with the clock in the
red in 2012/13 semi and led to a try for them, so.......
Thanks for the stats Poorfour, I don't suppose it breaks them
down to last ditchers which I'd say Green is in the 90%'s for
that, David less so. That said for the first try yesterday,
David flooring their winger and fullback was
       impressive......more of that please.
