The fact that he’s made Farrell captain for the rest of the
tournament suggests that Borthwick has had enough of winning and
wants us to get back to doing what we do best. Disappointing
       everyone.

That kind of quote from Wigglesworth is what will get them even
less slack than they would be getting otherwise. Over the top
blood and thunder is also tedious but that statement above is
       just nonsense.

Not a bad team, and I guess it sees if a few who have made the
squad in recent times can cut it, IE Rodd, Dan, Martin and
       Arundell.
I'm actually not against seeing Smith at 15. The only reason is
for a club level we can see if he could be a stand in should we
need one. Pleased for Ribbans to start, rate him as I don't
think he's really had a bad game for England.
Sinfield and Wigglesworth are busted flushes at this level and
are equally, if not more responsible than Borthwick for the
worst rugby I've seen England play in a calendar year.

I'd disagree on the grounds that they'll be playing against a
team that would struggle against most Prem sides. If they can't
cut it in this match, they really should be looking at a
       different career.

In attack, with Smith coming on a short line, of course it will
make holes and space and get him beyond the gainline. Of course,
it only works if he get's the ball. As passing to outside backs
isn't Farrell's strong suit, this may be flawed, even against
       Chile.
If you risk Smith at Fullback, you need your wingers and 13 to
carry the tackling load. Does that sound like Daly, Malin's &
       Arundell to anyone on here?
Yes it will probably be fine but expect Chile to maybe score 1
or 2 against us, if not a bonus point. And of course, won't be
used as a tactic again so pointless for one game.

Smith hat-trick this weekend. Dropped for Samoa.
       Calling it.

Lawrence is going to need a stormer, as I fear OF will be back
at 12, after SB has finished watching the 2019 AB's game for the
200th time convincing himself we can get it back.
I think if Malins so much as has one good run he could be back
in, so wouldn't be suprised to see a backline vs Samoa of
       9. Mitchell
       10 Ford
       11 May
       12 Farrell
       13 Daly
       14 Malins
       15 Steward
Potentially Marchant as an outsider for the 14 spot though.

The least frightening backline of all-time (ok I'm exaggerating
but still...). Very little pace, next-to-zero carrying power,
but plenty of players more than willing to put a grubber into
the corner when faced with a 3 on 1 overlap.

After the Argentina game, Ford has guaranteed his place for a
run of games. I think it's called Youngs/Farrell/May syndrome
       (delete as appropriate).
