Not unless he's improved dramatically over the last few months

The worrying thing is that there were a good number of genuine
1st XV starters in that team and we looked 2nd best at almost
       everything.

Defence seemed disorganised. No structure and tackles missed.
Looked like players had never played together before.

I should add that the points re Tyrone are understandable and
I'm sure will fall into lace quickly. The players being
       unfamiliar is also partly understandable.
The poor defence wasn't good, but let's hope that this is just a
case of blowing away the cobwebs.
On the plus side, Riley looked good and Lewies seemed to be fit
again. We've also signed a load of new players: Kessingham,
Kerrington, Kendelson, Kerchingham, and potentially next time we
       play at Kingsholm, Kenny Rogers.

Sounds like a good one to have missed. I can’t help but feel the
players we consider first teamers are going to be disappointing
when the premiership starts. Porter/Jarrod Evans should be
already gelling unless they are injured?
Having squad players is fine, but when called upon there’s still
the expectation they aren’t a hindrance…Gjaltema must have dirt
on senior management to get a new contract for this season.

Id say Slevin is already ahead of Edwards in the pecking order.
Looking at next season, With Smith/Evans/Slevin/Benson and the
young academy player whose name escapes me, I would be surprised
if Edwards is still with us
