What direction are you talking about?
Last time I checked the papers we are on the cusp of signing a
trade deal with whatever remains of the EU after this virus
pandemic.
We are also signing deals with South Korea, Japan and a lot of
other countries.
I saw talk the other day of signing up to an anglosphere deal
with the US, Canada, NZ and Aus. The combined single market
would be substantially bigger than the EU and in markets that
are growing.
Also, that deal would not mean having an undemocratic executive
and a box-ticking secondary parliament.
We will be reclaiming our boarders, this will cause some issues
to my business especially with a no-deal. However, I will adapt
and keep calm and carry on.
What amazes me is that remoners are still remoaning.

Not sure that this should surprise you. Europhobes spent 40+
years agitating to split from the European market organisation
in its various forms. It shouldn’t really be a shock that
Europhiles hold similarly strong views, albeit in the opposite
direction, and will hold them for a similarly long time.

I firmly believe that the British spirit of ingenuity, talent,
intellect and just plain hard work will flourish away from the
EU's restrictive centralism. Yes we have to be environmentally
aware and yes we cannot be gung ho but we as a Nation have a
great deal to offer.

I am no ravid BREXIT supporter. I was torn, I run a business
that export to the world, but also a lot to Germany, Holland and
Italy. I am all for European trade and such a free trade deal.
Just not a EU Government / Supernational parliament / defence /
taxes etc...
I just wish people would get behind the whole process and make
sure we have the support for trade deal.

Why should people get behind something that they don’t want,
don’t agree with and didn’t vote for?
It doesn’t mean that I don’t want it to be successful, but I’m
not on board with it as an idea and it’s not on me to make it
succeed - it’s those who campaigned for it and won to deliver.

I am asking this honestly, but what exactly do you not agree
with? Lack of freedom of movement, control of our laws by the EU
Court, Law being made by a commission that is not elected?
I am very interested in the what it is you are going to miss?

Freedom of movement is the main thing that affects me
personally. I am moving to Spain this week, which has had to be
brought forward in our plans because of the end of year cut off
to take residency.
I am aware that it is possible to achieve residency without
living in the EU, and that lots of people do it, but the process
is longer and the bar is higher than it is currently, and it is
also country specific.
The wider points about “taking back control” were all vague at
best, and the issues about money were at best disingenuous, or
at worst were outright lies.
We had control of our borders, we always could veto laws, we
opted out of a single currency and so any further integration of
defence or similar would have been up for debate as well. I
believe that we have benefited from the increase in
environmental and trading standards, and that we were a stronger
player in the market than we will be outside of it. The UK never
really took being in the EU particularly seriously - turnout at
the European elections was always low, general sharing of
information about the EU was poor. If we had wanted to know or
to have more of a say then the options were there, We just
didn’t take them.
The EU certainly isn’t perfect, but it wasn’t broken. The UK
opted to quit as a result of lies and false information, and we
will be weaker as a result. It’s caused division in the UK and
will lead to the break up of the Union. It’s cost billions
already, will cost billions more and will damage the economy.
But maybe I should ask you - what specific laws did you disagree
with? What was so bad that quitting the whole thing was the only
answer?

Fair enough.
As a student of history and politics, I tend to value Democracy
very highly.
One of the reasons the UK public had an indefirence to EU
elections, is that the posts that were being on voted for, were
for MEPs in the Secondary reviosonary chamber. They had little
or now difference in the direction.
I do not like the idea of being part of a European Super state.
It was that that scared me and the lack of democracy.
I do not plan on living abroad and will set that up if I need
to.
Good luck with your move. I hope it is a good one.
