Sloppy from Quins overall, and clearly second best at the
breakdown. Coventry's defence was also very good. A very
pleasing fightback though.

Why bring football into it? That's just Quins. It happens every

FAO : poorfour - THE BACK 3.
In the 1st half > Zheng and Cleaves only touched the ball a few
times, Tyrone looked (quite understandably) rusty and seemed to
lack confidence. In the 33rd minute he threw a pass which was
intercepted & led to Coventry's 2nd try. Poor lad looked gutted.
In the 2nd half > Zheng & Cleaves had a few more touches, Tyrone
was taking the high ball confidently & venturing a few runs into
contact. Zheng was substituted near the end. Cleaves ALMOST
scored the match winning try but was dragged in to touch by 3
Coventry players 2 metre's out.
Conclusion > a quiet day for the back 3 generally... Coventry
(credit to them) defended tightly & well. But, good to see
Tyrone play 80 minutes. He said his leg was all good. God
willing, this type of injury will never occur for him again.

I agree on this summation of the game, Coventry in defence knew
their roles and game plan and stuck to it. Would like to have
seen Cleaves in space a bit more and we started a bit more to
hit through the centre towards the end to create some space but
I forgot Cov only had 14 at the time.

Was a real stop/start game yesterday. Lots of stoppages for
injuries throughout the game. Hope CCS injury not too bad, he
looked very good off the scrum and ball in hand, very athletic.
Cleaves really didn't get the chances he had the previous week,
although Beard butchered a break with Cass on the outside in the
2nd half, bit greedy, real chance to score.
Anyway, CCS injury aside, good squad performance. Great to see
Green back at 15, was worried in warm up, he did seem to have a
perma-limp throughout, but during the game, he was back to his
fast rubber legged best [emoji12]

He had a big ice pack and knee immobiliser on when he came back
at the end of the game. Didn’t get chance/ feel right asking
about it at the time

The cup is proving that top of the Championship is competitive
against these weak Premiership sides.
Bristol and Saracens find themselves pointless and at the bottom
of their pools.
On the other hand, Sale FC in National 1 are missing their baby
Sharks - albeit many of those come through the M&Y programme run
by FC - and have lost their first three games. They only lost
three games in total last season, finishing third and missing
out on promotion by a single point.
The semi-pro sides are struggling, as the professional players
are just that much quicker to react. But that is to be expected.
But it would not take much redistribution of funding to create a
fully pro second tier that was fully competitive and would fully
justify promotion and relegation.
However, not if the second tier has to have a white elephant
stadium.
