I’m expecting us to put out a broadly similar team with a bit of
rotation. Can’t see Launchbury appearing before the Saracens
games, but perhaps we might bring in Herbst to beef up the tight
five. Would think we’d want to take a look at Osborne and
Alikhan as both are newly promoted from the academy without a
lot of senior playing time. Could also see us starting Benson at
Flyhalf (before he heads back for his last year at Cambridge),
possibly with Slevin at Fullback and then drop a couple of
flyers on the bench; Zheng / Kolade / Byrne etc.

I believe at the moment, the soccer and rugby pitches at BPA are
marked out at 100x70m, so share touch and goal lines. The lines
for the soccer penalty area and 6' box may, however, be
confusing. There are also faint lines at 10,20 and 30 for rugby
league - I assume in summer those are painted and the 22m line
is painted over.
The in goal is only 5m - so a little shallow. There is also only
a couple of metres from the lines to the edge of the enclosure,
not the prefered 5. But compared to some of the undersized
pitches used in the Premiership it is wide acres.

TEAM NEWS: TYRONE GREEN RETURNS TO FACE COVENTRY

Harlequins’ fullback Tyrone Green will make his return from
injury on Saturday, named in Billy Millard’s squad for the
Premiership Rugby Cup match against Coventry at The Stoop (KO
15:00).
The South African, returning after nearly 12 months on the
sidelines, has been named to make his make his 50th appearance
for Quins, and his first since a knee injury against Leicester
Tigers in October 2022.
“We’re excited to welcome Tyrone back,” Millard said.
“He’s done a power of work to get himself fit after a long
period of rehab. We feel like he’s ready to go, he’s a quality
player and we look forward to having him back on Saturday.”
Millard also confirmed the inclusion of former London Irish
number eight Chandler Cunningham-South. The England U20
representative joined the Club in the summer and will get his
first opportunity to impress in a Quins shirt.
“Chandler has made a big impact since joining us. He has worked
hard in training to build his fitness and adapt quickly to our
game style. We’re expecting a strong performance and confident
he’ll be ready to show what he can do.”
Other additions to the squad include the return of South African
second-row Irne Herbst and dynamic flanker Jack Kenningham.
Hooker George Head and prop Tom Osborne also return.
Archie White captains the side from openside flanker, with Jake
Murray and Connor Slevin maintaining their combination at nine
and ten. Elsewhere, Cassius Cleaves continues on the right wing
following his hat-trick against Hartpury, while Roma Zheng earns
his starting debut.
“We were pleased with our performance against Hartpury. There
were some good signs, and with further squad additions this week
we’re expecting more improvement,” Millard said.
“Coventry showed their ability against Saracens last week.
They’re a good side who will offer an exciting challenge on
Saturday.
“We’re happy to announce our team news earlier than usual as we
know how excited our supporters will be to see this team
perform. We look forward to a great atmosphere on Saturday as we
build on a positive result last weekend.”

Good thinking, get the team up early and try to boost the crowd.
Give supporters a few days to decide to go and make
arrangements.
Big fan of this as well, shows confidence in what we’ve got and
what we’re going to do. Coventry have a couple of days to look
closely at our squad and come up with a plan, but we don’t care.

Zheng, Cleeves & Green....I suspect Coventry's plan may involve
a large machine gun. Only way you're stopping them

That's a very pacy back three - we can't make the game
(delivering Poorfour Jr to uni and Ms Poorfour Maj to county
hockey trials) but I'll be keen to hear how the backs combine.
Cleaves + Green in particular could be a potent combination
given Green's strength in the tackle and Cleaves' ability to
exploit the smallest bit of space...
