correct. Cheap shot but no head contact. Curry was lazy , or
poor timing due to lack of game time. Head contact so red. Might
seem harsh but all teams now how it's being reffed at the moment

Except there was clear head contact. The mitigation seemed to be
that he hit Ford’s body fractionally before he hit his head.

Farrell's face was a picture. You would think we had lost. Not a
single smile. Doesn't set much of an example does it

What's a win, with 14 men . Exceptional.

Didn't expect that scoreline. Argentina woeful. England did what
they needed to. Didn't look very threatening but to be fair,
they didn't need to. If the opposition gift you 3 points at
regular intervals of course you'd take them

Have to say, best performance since narrowly losing to Ireland
at Twickenham a couple of 6Ns ago. Sets up the group now but
never looked like scoring a try

That’s the archetypal performance. Dragged them into the gutter.
Ford is the right ten for this system. Superb game management.

If we score a try this tournament it needs to be sown on to the
sleeves

Depressing thing is, ford playing well doesn't mean Farrell
doesn't come back in. He'll just come straight back in at 12.
Manu to 13, marchant to bench / out entirely

Considering no fancy stuff was expected or played I thought that
was a brilliant win. Really enjoyed it.

England played 65+ minutes a player down and conceded 8 points
in total and only 7 penalties. The lack of even really going for
a try was clearly a deliberate tactic once the red card was
awarded - keep the scoreboard ticking over to keep the pressure
on Argentina.
It wasn’t pretty rugby but it worked - but it’s also probably
not indicative of what England can do with a full complement on
the pitch.
I’m worried now as to how England handle losing Curry to what is
likely to be a 3-4 week ban unless the citing panel accepts some
mitigation (which could happen - I think Curry was unsighted).
I’m not sure what the rules are for replacing banned players at
the RWC but presumably there has to b e a provision (imagine if
two props got bans in successive matches). Given England’s
remaining pool games can probably be won without him, I suspect
Borthwick will keep him on even so, but it’s starting to get a
bit dicey in terms of unavailable players.
