Terrible news for the Quins AMs

In fact it is even worse news for Hampton Wick Royal Cricket
Club

*CLUB STATEMENT*
Devastating news this morning. Overnight on 6 September there
was a catastrophic fire in the pavilion. This photo appears to
indicate it has been destroyed. We are coordinating with the
police and fire service and will post any updates as we get
them.

My daughters both play for Quins Ams Youth Section (and I coach
and ref there). A real shock to wake up to that this morning.
You'd hope there's insurance in place but since the pavilion
(which was a lovely old thing) belongs to the cricket club that
will be with them rather than the rugby club.
We're waiting to hear what impact it will have on both clubs in
terms of training. The equipment was mostly stored in other
buildings (one of which is in a neighbouring field) so may well
have survived. Changing rooms, loos and catering will all have
gone - not sure how we will handle that.

Twickenham Green, Twickenham TW2 5TU who may reach out

Cheers NS. As Poorfour says, it looks as if most of our stuff
will be safe but you're right that the focus should be on the
cricketers. 160 years of memories and memorabilia gone.

Officers from @MPSRichmond and @MPSRoyal_Parks are currently on
scene with @The_LFB at #BushyPark following a suspected arson at
the Royal Hampton Wick Cricket Club. Anyone with information

This unfortunately is a recurring problem. There is always some
@#£&%+= who thinks burning down something that is important to a
community is fun. Many never get replaced and an important
facility is lost. I hope something can be salvaged from this
situation and it can be rebuilt.

Oh, that's awful. What sort of person would want to destroy all
that history?
