I found out today (and I had to double-check as I couldn't
believe it) that Borekick was handed a 5-year contract to start
with. 5 blummin years. The RFU will be bankrupt by the end of it
(if he lasts that long).

The RFU does a review after each series played and has
frequently changed coaches after them. It did for Robinson,
Ashton, Johnson, Lancaster and Eddie, and it will do for
Borthwick if England don't show some signs of improvement. I
would be very surprised if there weren't a break clause after
each series - but equally an exit clause that determines how
much the coach gets paid to leave. They're still human beings
with families to feed, and they're not paid so much that they
can afford to be cut loose with no guarantee of finding a new
job quickly, so any agent worth their salt will have something
put in the contract to give them a soft landing.
This isn't that different from senior positions in any other
walk of life. It's just that sports coaches are visible to a
much wider audience than the average CEO.

However fluffy you may aspire to establish between the RFU and
their employee I'm increasingly hacked off that failure deserves
any kind of payoff. I don't get that if my LTD company goes
tits-up.
No fecker gets a pay off
You take a big bucks position and don't deliver the bums on
seats at HQ and associated merchandise sales value then please
feck off.
Don't expect to be paid for failure.

The good news is that we do not drop below Wales in the
rankings.
The bad news is that we do drop below Argentina!
And dangerously close to Japan and Samoa.

Out of curiosity could someone explain why England wore black
jerseys on Saturday.
I do understand that the home team in international rugby has to
change if there is a clash of colours. But who thought Black was
a good colour for England. Wouldn't red from the St George flag
be a good alternative. I do remember England had a purple jersey
a few years back.

The rankings are very confusing. They don't look to have changed
at all 🤔 the gap between SA and NZ is the same...

After Samoa's performance v Ireland and if Japan bring their
A-game against us, I am beginning to seriously doubt that
England will get out of a so-called "softer" pool.

Maybe they picked a colour to reflect the nation’s rugby
outlook.

It was a dark blue strip rather than black.
