First I must lead with an apology. I got a lot of emails
regarding recent trolling activity, thank you for that.
Unfortunately I was spending a few days in the Peak District
with my grandkids, so didn't read my emails or the board really.
(Shocking, I admit, but it's difficult being Admin on a mobile
phone!). So this is a general "reply and thank you" to all of
you.
So, this Quint/Timbuctoo fellow? Seems to have deleted himself,
which saved me the necessity of explaining to him why he was
being banned. It's always hard to absolutely identify someone
when all you have is an IP address and a fake name, but I
suspect this is a well known troll who pops up every now and
then. It's fairly impossible to identify these people in
advance, it's only when they break cover you can tell their true
colours.
The trouble is trying to make life hard for the troll results in
life being more restrictive for everybody. I can stop you
changing your account details for example, which would stop the
stupid name changing, but that means ordinary members who wanted
to change email address or such like would have to register as
new users or email me or some such.
Anyway, they're gone for the moment. Please continue to report
behaviour you think needs investigating, I don't monitor these
boards 24/7 as I've said.
