Probably true.It was clear Danny and Marcus were pretty strictly
sticking to a pre ordained game plan.Farrell is much better at
doing what he's told, regardless of opportunities missed.
It's like yoking a cart horse and a thoroughbred to a cart.
Which is going to be better at doing the job?Which will appear
more skittish and ineffective? Which is the best choice to get
the cart to where you want it to go?
But if the choice is between the cart horse and winning the
race? Don't restrict your thoroughbred to the pace of your cart
horse. I've been reading all week how England are going to be
sticking to a simple plan in the RWC. Presumably the same one
Lord Hague used in WWI, we can overwhelm them with our superior
       numbers and obstinacy! 🙂

He'll be gone soon enough once we bomb out of the world cup.

Catch 22 for Quins players/groups, either play the plan and
don't show your skills or try to be exciting and expansive and
       not be "team players".

Agree with the latter point, Hellequin. I recently raised the
point of transferring the "Stokes and Bazball" philosophy, so
memorably demonstrated in Test cricket this last 12 months, into
our Rugby team (England). I am sure we all remember that moment
v Montpellier in the Heineken Cup when Danny & Marcus created
that wonder wonder try for Joe Marchant. That was crazy !!!! But
it could work - "no fear of failure, express yourself, take
risks, try things". We DO have the players who, when let off the
       leash, could deliver "Bazball" rugby.

Can Smith actually make it at the highest level? He’s had a fair
few caps now, and let’s be honest his England highlight reel
       isn’t that great.

Careless, Dumbrant and Shith should be dropped. They’ll all had
plenty of chances and failed miserably.

Unfortunately doesn’t look a happy camp.

Maybe there’s some mileage in this. I was thinking how
miserable Dombrandt looked, the complete opposite of the
       playing-with-smiles-on-your-faces Quins ethic.

I thought Fazlet's look was one of support tbh.

I think Tubby has got it right.

He's already had plenty of fine performances at that level -
just not ones where he does what he does for Quins, bar a few
cameos like the NZ game. Yesterday was another example of this.
He did everything he was expected to do by the coaches. Just not
       what the fans hope for.
