If only LCD was fit enough to go.

To be honest - I think that not being called up for this world
cup is basically dodging a bullet.
I would love it if England were to do well in the competition.
But - to be realistic, based on the last X games that I have
seen, England lacks any sort of game plan. I can't see us
suddenly coming together and becoming a good team between now
and the start of the competition.
We should get though to the quarter finals - but, if our game is
going to rely on us hoping that the other team can knock on the
ball so that we can win a kickable penalty from the following
scrum, then we shouldn't really be expecting much.
Probably our best hope is that there is a player revolt (à la
2007 world cup) and choose their own game plans.

Well it wasn’t last year. I love Dommers but he was one of the
worst players for England in the 6 nations - and he was awful
for the rest of the season when he came back to us.
He knocked on four times in a game at the stoop and did similar
over the road in the “summer” big game in April. Confidence
looked shot totally.
He was once again awful on Sat in Cardiff.
He’s a very unconventional 8 and it hasn’t worked as well since
our winning season - his performance relies on a very specific
combo of pace and front foot ball that other teams no longer
allow us generally.
I think Cunningham-South is likely to prove to be a better
option for us if he keeps his development going. Sad to say it,
but just think the lack of pure physicality is Dommers’ weakness
now everyone has got used to him.
Nothing he’s done make him look like an international player.

Much as I would have preferred Randall or Quirke, it's pretty
incredible for Danny if he gets some proper WC games - can't
believe he'd have been happy with Uruguay in a dead game as his
only WC appearance with 90 caps across 15 years!

Where we'd play Australia, Fiji or Wales all of whom we can beat
in a one-off game and have a decent record against recently. A
semi final drubbing at the hands of NZ, SA, France or Ireland is
very possible and with it a 4th place finish.

Dumbrant? You called Marcus Smith 'Shith' a few days back. You
sure you're a Quins fan? You spend most of the time slagging off
Quins players.

I think from a back row point of view, this is a good tournament
to miss for Dommers as we'll get schooled there by Argentina and
either wales or Oz so better he stays at home. Gutted for him,
of course
