I remember well when it was founded in response to the
Harlequins Supporters Association (I think that was the name).

Not that well, then. 😁
Pretty sure it was the Harlequins Supporters Club.
I forget exactly why Quinssa was formed, if I ever really knew.
After all the HSC essentially did the same job. There was a lot
of anger around at the time, probably because Julian found it
very easy to get up people's noses. I have a feeling it may also
have related to an old message board which I had never used

Forgive the memory lapse (posted without researching). It was 20
years ago! It was formed because a certain person ran it as if
it was a personal fiefdom rather than as something representing
supporters generally. The key moment was really when the club
afforded QUINSSA official recognition. If I recall correctly ...

I would like to note my own personal part in the downfall of HSC
too....they held an AGM when all interested Members would be at
an official Quins event (a dinner I think!)....I went along and
got voted in as the new HSC Chairman....first order of
business.....close it down.....such high jinx! There was also a
weird few days when all conversations had to happen on the LI or
Sale message boards because we were being heavily censored by
HSC on 'their' and only existing online fans message board! 20
years ago though....WOW!!!

I'd forgotten you were involved! I knew there'd be a few who
were still posting. I didn't know anything about the
machinations but I'd been on a few HSC away trips courtesy of
some friends who were members of both HSC and HFC.

This issue about HSC is all totally new to me. Extensive
censorship on the website, "personal fiefdom" suggestions,
rumours about missing funds ! What on earth was going on then ?
Was it run by someone with a surname of Putin ?!
Thank goodness we now have a great organisation called QUINSSA.
