I think that looking at T1 caps doesn't give the whole story.
Lewies has 1 cap. Basically, he was called up when both Bakkies
Botha and Flip van der Merwe coldn't play.
Collier has 2 caps. This was during an England tour of
Argentina. The tour coincided with the Lions tour of NZ. So,
basically, he played because Cole and Sink were unavailable.

Wasn't Cavubati also capped? Although he was on the bench.

While true, this was also the case for a few of those Saracens
players at the time, like Clark and Lozowski, so it all kinda
evens out. Quins had more caps and more capped players, but not
by an order of magnitude or anything.

I wasn't considering the bench. But, the bench probably had a
few caps
Auterac, Cavubati, Landajo, Goneva.

Without wanting to be accused of “stating the bl***ing” obvious,
it all depends on how we play! We have made some really good
signings, we have a great mixed group of young and experienced
players who hopefully will continue to learn, gel and play as
well as they did on occasion last season, if it all goes as it
should with the potential quality of the match day squads we can
put out, International absence’s and injuries allowing, I can
honestly see us being top 4.
What I want to be able to stop saying is “ the only really
consistent thing about us……is our inconsistency!”

Real opportunity for us this season coming. We’ve addressed a
lot of the issues we had last year in recruitment, have found
really good (on paper) World Cup cover for when the England guys
and André are gone, and have a potential golden generation of
u20 capped players coming through. If the even one or two of the
class of U20 RWC 2023 come through (CCS, Jibulu, Slevin,
Cleaves, Bradley etc) as contributors then we are well set.
The squad is better and younger than previous years but also
just experienced in a way through adding launch and a 50 cap
tight head to replace Wilco.
We’ve lost fewer to the World Cup than sarries, Leicester etc
and if we get a good start, should be right up there as we are
much better equipped to get through winter with a big pack and
Marcus and co back. There’s always a surprise package who
cracks the top 4 from nowhere - I think this will be bath this
year. But we should be up there.

Bath look great on paper. They've had a lot of player/staff
turnover during the last 12 months so it'll be a question of how
quickly they can assimilate and get their structures in place.
That'll be a harder task during a world cup year. I think
they'll get there, just maybe not this season.
I see us strong contenders for top 4. In the mix with Sarries,
Sale, Tigers and I'm going to say Saints. They've not made lots
of signings, but they've been crying out for a decent 7 which
Pearson addresses and Oodendal gives them a more direct option
at 12.
Agree with your comments on Quins recruitment and the healthy
state of our squad and academy. The only caveat I'd make is that
we don't have a like for like replacement for Andre (which is a
diificult task I know) and with Wilco off, we're missing two
players who made so many of our hard yards over the last couple
of seasons, in a side not previously blessed with an abundance
of big carriers.
You've alluded to this already but with the likes of Launchbury
and CCS coming in and a deeper squad meaning Herbst and Dommers
aren't burnt out, I'm expecting that collectively we'll be
stronger and less reliant on certain individuals to break the
line.

Getting a good centre pairing with Andre likely to be away and
Nacho off is going to be the key for Quins next season.
13 isn't too bad - Northmore (if fit), Joseph and Beard gives us
options and Anyanwu has played most of his time there. Options
at 12 seem less settled - Anyanwu has done will in his
opportunities there but is still quite raw. Northmore has never
looked great there. I like the look of Hyde as a 12 but not sure
how ready he is to step up. I think Jarrod Evans has played a
fair bit at 12, though, so maybe we will see an Edwards / Evans
/ Northmore combo in the early season action.

Evans is 5'10" and 13.5 stone. That's quite a different 12 to
Andre!
