Jibulu, Cunningham-South, Slevin and Cleaves all in the starting
team for the crucial match against Aus.
Looks like England are putting out their strongest team, knowing
that they will probably need a big score to ensure they finish
top of the table.
They start half an hour later than Ireland, so will have some
idea of the target. Ireland will probably run up a decent win
against Fiji - but are also missing players as a result of 3 red
cards in 2 games.

Bradley, Green and Driscoll all starting for Wales against
France too (though I think they’re going to have a difficult
afternoon!)
It’s remarkable that the club is making this level of
contribution to two countries u20 sides (not forgetting Smith
with Scotland).
I checked and our Senior Academy numbers are currently at 30.
That’ll drop a bit when they confirm promotions, but I don’t
imagine those will be at the level of last year (when we
promoted 10) and I’m pretty sure the academy number is a record
high. It’s obviously been enabled by the revised Salary Cap
rules, but it feels like the club has made some fundamental
changes in it’s approach to the Academy.

It is a great showing. I don't think the club has changed all
that much about the Academy, but as they've had more experience
they have probably refined their selection and development
processes. These kids would mostly have entered the DPP at U14
while still at school, so many of them will have been part of
the academy setup for the past 6 years.
I know a few people who have had kids in the Quins and LI
academies, and the first few iterations of the academy coaching
system were apparently pretty ropey. The kids entering since
about 2014 have had a much better setup and the output has been
pretty consistent if you think about who has made it to the
senior side.
But this bunch do have a bit of a golden generation feel about
them - we've been hearing good things about several of them for
a while now and the ease with which Slevin has taken to fly half
(having been primarily a fullback prior to this tournament) is
impressive (and makes our fly half stocks very interesting -
Smith, Evans, Edwards, Benson and Slevin is quite a roster and
has plenty of scope for succession planning).
That said, would love to get our hands on either of the two
starting props - and one of them is currently unattached.

Not sure that Fasogbon is unattached any more. Going to Glaws I
believe.
At 6' 4" and 130+kg, he's a big boy for an 18-year old

would have expected given Thursday's results, but the Quins
players are going well. Slevin running the game well, CCS
carrying hard and connecting well with Jibulu, who has scored
along with Cleaves.
