I’d back us to beat all of those teams bar Toulouse. Thankfully

A reminder that we only play these teams once, either home or
away. The way that's decided is opaque. We could get the two
french teams at home, or the two Celts, or one Fr, one Celt.
No-one knows as yet. The only thing that's been mentioned by
EPCR about the organisation of the fixtures is:
The fixture schedules for both tournaments with dates, venues,
kick-off times and TV coverage will be announced as soon as
possible. Fixtures will be determined using an algorithm which
will take into consideration the pool draws, league calendar
restrictions, individual club calendar restrictions and
broadcast requirements.

In terms of who we might beat, Cardiff and Racing, certainly.
Ulster at home, yes but they are a tough away fixture. Toulouse
at the Stoop might be interesting.
We ought to get out of that pool.

Well if the pool was seeded we'd be 4th so it's a distinct
possibility.

No it isn't. The draw needs to take place before they arrange
the fixtures. Doesn't really work the other way around.

The draw means that they can now start discussions with people
like the Broadcasters, the relevant Unions, etc to settle what
order the games are scheduled in. It's a lot more involved than
a single league in terms of arranging. The various broadcasters
will want to make sure that all the best fixtures (in terms of
TV viewing figure draw) aren't all bunched together in one w/e.
They will also want to make sure that teams they want to use as
"tentpole" events in a schedule aren't shunted to a late Sunday
kick-off or similar poor TV slot. The various Unions (RFU, not
RMT!) will also want to have a say, as will the clubs
themselves.
It's always been a case of the draw for the pools taking place
in June/July but the pool fixtures not being set until a couple
of weeks before the season starts.
