Let’s just go back to having Mark Evans as Chief Executive and
DOR. It’ll save a few quid and nothing went wrong the last time
       we did it.

To be fair I think that was largely to do with spending lots of
money on the "new" West Stand. Oh and having a bunch of players
who although they were vastly experienced with seriously good
pedigrees didn't seem to play terribly well. How many B&I Lions
       did that team have?

Yeah, if that's referring to relegation Mark Evans came clean
and said it was his decision to fund the West Stand rather than
the squad and it was a misjudgement.

Thoroughly nice guy, always has time for a very quick chat, has
time for all the fans.....but sadly in this day and age it is
obviously not the yardstick by which we measure success....best
of luck Tabs in your new role....I for one will miss you!

Agree with this, always had time for a handshake, chat, and
       always courteous to everyone.

       Yes.
That was my first year as a STH. Sad to be relegated at the end
of it, but we had fun in ND1, since interesting away trips and
she very entertaining but one sided matches at home....

Ours too. A longer standing Quins STH of my acquaintance came to
believe that they were losing because of us, because every time
we went to a home game they lost. Fortunately, on the last day
of the season we were in Budapest, so I was able to absolve
myself of responsibility for that final kick.

That's weird - so was I, but my wife was at the game. I blame
       her. 😁

My wife was a chef at a central London restaurant at the time
and had to work every other Saturday, which very often coincided
with Quin's matches. Including that match against Sale. I don't
even think I had a matter with me that day .. I blame her... Or
       Staunton....

provide oversight and developmental advice to the young coaches

When Matson was recruited - at best his coaching was limited to
assistant coach in NZ predominately at semi professional level
plus 1 year experience of head coach at Canterbury (that's not
the Crusaders) & a couple of years playing in the UK - my main
recollection of Matson involvement in rugby at that time was as
a TV rugby analyst not coaching - yet Poorfour says he was
recruited to mainly provide oversight and developmental advice
to the young coaches". This cannot be true.
I am not saying that he was out of his depth because Razor
Robertson, Dave Rennie and Jamie Joseph were more or less at
that same level when they secured their first super rugby
professional head coaching gig - direct from domestic semi
professional NPC to international professional super rugby. So:
What were the expectations when Quins recruited someone from the
other side of the world for their first full time professional
rugby head coach role. Was he one of the young coaches that
needed oversight and developmental advice or was he just left to
       it.
