So we are bringing back a Director of Rugby role, dropping Head
Coach and introducing a coaching co-ordinator.
I wonder how long Tabs stays in this new role or leaves as his
contract expires.

Harsh when you look at the number of injuries to key players,
some of them long term. Our club captain and let second row man
was it for almost the entire season. Our extremely exciting 1st
choice full back and I've if the best young winners in the
country were both our for most of the season and half of back
row were injured for all or most of the season.
It wasn't great but it wasn't that bad a season all things
considered.

IIRC the coaches have permanent contracts as opposed to time
limited ones, this was part of the review that happened a few
years ago.

He basically has been. He's now got zero to do with what happens
on a matchday.
Someone on twitter commented that we probably can't afford to
pay off his contract.
I imagine he'll leave before Xmas.

And I'm sure from a CV and newxt job point of view it's better
for him to initiate his leaving.

Not sure it makes much difference in sport. Most
coaches/managers who are sacked seem to pop up somewhere -
usually pretty quickly.

Why would paying him for a nothing role be any cheaper?
If he's on a perm contract, Tabs will have a notice period. I
guess that could be a whole year/season but it wouldn't give the
board much wiggle room if a coach lost the dressing room so I'd
assume that 6m (or similar) is more likely.

true - it just may be that they've all agreed to say he's not
off yet while that's all played out.
But his job title is made up nonsense
