Does clicking on the notification next to a thread showing that
there's new posts do anything? (I'd try it but I'm up to date on
reading all the threads at the moment!). Some systems use that
as a link to take you to the first unread response to the
thread...
UPDATE
It does! To jump to the first unread message in a thread, click
directly on the "NEW" notification next to the thread title in
the list.

Well Spotted! It appears to from the limited testing I've been
able to do.

If you click on the "New" icon in the message list, it takes you
to the newest message (most of the time)

I don't know if people have been having problems getting the
mobile site lately, I may have turned it off by mistake !!! If
you clear cookies/cache etc it should be back (if it ever went).

There's a lot of options for this forum. Most of them are not
explained. I thought I was turning off the option to use the
mobile theme on the desktop! Then I remembered it stopped
working on my phone a few days back! Oh well, shan't be turning
that off again!
