I think we believe the Premiership Cup will run from 9th
September until 7th Oct.
We need 24 teams, though.

The Prem Cup will be most team's pre-season friendlies

The Championship clubs are lining up pre-season games.
Cambridge for example are playing Carmarthen Quins and Nick
Easter's Chinnor.
Nick is turning Chinnor into a difficult side to beat.
Most pre-season games are played with unlimited subs, so coaches
can try out combinations.
But I expect the cup to be played under standard playing
conditions.

The club will want a couple for friendly games before the Prem
Cup, just to get some "game rust" knocked off the players after
the summer before the Prem Cup actually starts. Plus they'll
want to try out some of the new combinations that recruitment
has led to in games that have nothing actually riding on.
