But £1m is only two months wages. In addition there's talk of
the government being more flexible on payback of the Covid
loans. Mick Crossan picked up the wages for the club the
previous month. However, that only makes sense if he commits to
funding next season and he's indicated pretty clearly that he's
had enough. It really looks like the USA idea is a non-starter,
I'm sorry but I don't see anyway out for Irish. As an ex
member/STH at Irish (when they were at The Stoop) I really will
be sad if that happens. I loved the ground at Sunbury, that was
a proper clubhouse they had there. That great picture of Conor
O'Shea at the bottom of the stairs. if they go, we're all gonna
miss them.

But this is not the Covid loan, it is the tax.
If it is only a few months of tax, it suggests that the
management have been remiss in not keeping the creditors on side
during the protracted sale.
Or if they have, HMRC has stopped believing any new money will
appear, and want to be at the front of the queue.
The sad thing is there is a charge on Hazelwood, and the
collapse of the professional team could leave the amateurs
without a home. Mind you, it would be highly ironic if a charge
held by the CMS for a loan to help a sorts club caused a sports
venue to be sold for housing.

The Irish government has put plenty of money into the amateurs
in the past. No reason for them not to do so in the future.
