No. I'm happy for you to point me to the podcast where he
mentions it. As I did the last time you claimed this same story
was on a podcast, when it turned out something very different
was said.

Lol okay, so we spent very heavily on a player with a short
union career who'd done nothing in the NFL and was an absolute
gamble, and weren't prepared to pay good money to the most
impressive academy graduate who'd already established himself as
a fine first team player. Of course, that makes perfect sense.
But also despite this, Saracens weren't outbidding Quins. Right.
This is definitely a consistent and well argued point.
"Player says nice things about club he joined and now plays for"
shocker. Piutau was effusive about Ulster as I recall. I fully
expect most players would look forward to playing for Saracens.
That doesn't mean most players would jump ship from their
academy team having just won the title alongside their mates and
secured their starting slot at a very young age, without a hefty
financial incentive

I’m sure I read that CSW was on circa 98k but wanted 120k .
Quins said no your not good enough on ya bike. Allegedly.
Academy players get 50k at Quins . A colleagues son’s mate got
in last year and that’s what he was told .
Tizzard was a first team player so he would have been on a
lot more than that. A few of the Quins lads were inferring that
he had gone for the money on social media.

Saracens recruited Tizard long before Quins won the league
(without Saracens in it of course). It was his first year out of
the academy and he was 20/21 years old. I doubt he would have
been on big money. Meanwhile, Saracens had moved a lot of locks
off their playing roster including Skelton, Kruis, and Kpoku
with Swinson also leaving before Tizard would join which clearly
freed up a big chunk of budget. Seeing as post rationalised
hindsight appears to be the only currency at play on this thread
now, we can say that Tizard was spot on to leave Quins and join
Saracens wasn't he.

Sorry, you're saying Saracens recruited Tizard "long before
Quins won the league"? Which they did in June 2021? And he was
announced by Saracens as a signing in January 2022?
Another remarkable claim in a series of them. Any proof for this
one?

If you're an ambitious player with aspirations for personal
development, success and a desire to play for England then
Saracens offers a much better overall proposition to achieve
those aims than Harlequins does. You see, you think it's only
about money that motivates players and this is where you always
go wrong when trying to understand why Saracens win and, in this
case, why players would want to join them. Tizard is a smart
player which is one of the main reasons Saracens were interested
in him, and of course why he was interested in joining Saracens.
It wouldn't have been a difficult sell to convinced a 20 year
old Tizard that a future at Saracens would be a more successful
future than a future with Harlequins.
