While I basically agree with you, it's worth remembering that
Sarries got caught on what was essentially publically available
information. Which raises the question of what was there that
wasn't so easily found. None of it was subtle - neither the way
these things were set up, nor the behaviour of the Saracens
management in hoovering up top level players.
The signings of Elliot Daly and Liam Williams to join an already
impossibly star studded lineup were the last straw.
I have no idea if Saracens are "legit" now. I can certainly see
how many of the core group might be willing to take a pay cut in
order to continue the levels of success they had previously. But
there's no way on earth that the squad they have right now could
possibly exist were it not for the blatant and sustained
financial doping Saracens engaged in. It's not as absurd a
difference as it was just before they got caught, but that squad
is still insanely out of whack with the rest of the league.

Sure - but what I mean is this.
Assume that Kenners is earning £200k a year. He would probably
have no idea as to whether that amount contributed to the entire
squad going over the cap.
So, I can't really see any situation that he would be "hiding"
£50k of the £200k in an overseas account. For him, the risks
would be enormous as this would be a criminal activity rather
than a salary-cap "slap on his wrist".

Well, generally I agree but it wouldn't have to be abroad and if
it was it wouldn't necessarily be illegal. My point was more
that players don't just have to avoid tax fraud or anything
illegal if they are complicit.

It doesn't take long to find the current business interests.
Start at Companies House and go from there. To a man these guys
have complicated business lives, far more than the likes of
Danny or Ugo, who both have well known media and agency
interests.
To find a smoking gun you would have to audit these other
companies and the RFU does not the power to do that. It can only
look at what the club does - and even then its powers are
limited. In the meantime there is nothing wrong, technically,
with being an outstanding and successful businessman in your
private life, even if it is unclear to others how you ever had
the time, knowledge or capital to get become so, or why so many
apparently talented businessmen all also play rugby for one
club.

I can’t see how some or all the players aren’t complicit. Maro,
we would like you to turn up for some event you’ll get £20k for
but you don’t actually need to be there. Why, don’t ask.

But that's not a problem. The £20k counts in the salary cap;
no-one cares whether he turned up or not.

The only way the Saracens team is out of whack is that it has so
many homegrown academy players in it.
This thread really is genuinely hilarious.

Seen an article about Salarycens not liking reduced cap as they
have to get rid of top players ( retiring ? ) because they can’t
keep under it . But strangely still able to attract/sign English
Welsh and Scottish international players.
