Maybe I chose a poor example.
But, imagine for one plenty that a white Quins player had said
that all black people have a place in hell waiting for them
Do you think that we would be as tolerant?

Why not explain your point using what he actually thinks, rather
than coming up with an example of something he didn't say?

Because, maybe some people consider his views on gay people to
be acceptable as long as he backs it up with biblical evidence.
So, I tried to find an equivalent example that isn't backed up
       by the Bible.
Maybe I am falling to make the point here
Basically, I have no issue with him being homophobic. He has the
right to think whatever he likes. We don't have "thought police'
       .
But, I do have an issue when he expresses homophobic views to
       thousands of followers

What point are you trying to score Quinky?
He puts out a homophopic tweet, people get angry about it so why
should they focus on his rugby only?

Would you have an issue if he said that all Brexit voters should
burn in hell? Or all Trump voters?

Not trying to score any points. I don't need to.
       What's your angle on this?

Everybody who wishes to express their feelings on his homophobic

They can. But where does it end? Should the vegans boo
       meat-eaters?

The thing is Quinky - besides the moral aspect, there are laws
about what you can and can't say on the internet or in live
       speach.
If he had just posted once - and then taken it down and
apologised saying that he hadn't really thought about his
posting, then in my view, that would be forgivable.
But, from memory, he continued to double down on what he had
said - which is why Rugby Australia had to let him go.
I think that even after he switched to league, he continued to
be outspoken and Catalan Dragons also had to let him go.
It is a fine line between posting random thoughts and posting
       things like "burn in hell".
For info - here are some points -
"A hate incident is any incident which the victim, or anyone
else, thinks is based on someone’s prejudice towards them
because of their race, religion, sexual orientation, disability
       or because they are transgender."
       "Incitement to hatred
The offence of incitement to hatred occurs when someone acts in
a way that is threatening and intended to stir up hatred. That
could be in words, pictures, videos, music, and includes
       information posted on websites."

That's the main problem with so called hate speech.
