This might cheer you up. First Fiji and then Samoa beat New
       Zealand.

Never been before but really enjoyed the day. Always something
happening and a party atmosphere. The rugby was interesting and
some amazing skills on display. Fiji and Argentina in the final
which went flat after 2mins after one of the Islanders was sent
off a tackle beyond the horizontal.
I don’t know what that Jones bloke was going on about,
everybody else seemed to enjoy the event.

It's a strange day out. It's like being in the middle of some
huge end of term party. For once, you can't really get upset
about the number of people showing no interest in the game or
just there for the beer, the sunshine and the craic. The funny
thing was we had a few initial Mexican waves when I first
arrived around 11 am but after that no more at all. I've been
there before while the final match is on and they are roaring
       round the stadium.
Have to say, I was nearly watching the spectators as much as the
games, thinking "were we once as young and stupid as that?", but
of course we were! Also have to say I saw people drinking a lot
but no actual drunks in term of being out of control, but of
course as it finished at 6 pm the night was yet young. £36 for
the cheapest seats was not bad for around 8 hours entertainment.
They actually had a funfair in the West stand village, but more
importantly had the real ale bar. The naked ladies I had was
pretty sour so I had another pint of guinness, and that was it.
Drink/driving not recommended ever, but especially not on a
       motorbike!

Yeah, Stephen Jones just gets one of his puff pieces for
Saracens and does a global replace New Zealand for Saracens!

I remember there used to be a club sevens event, that cost a lot
less to put on and still sold out the cabbage patch, albeit in
the green sheds phase, so possibly slightly smaller. It had the
advantage that Quins did quite well.
If you can remember Harryman versus Offiah, you had not had
       enough champers.

The original Middlesex 7s was my introduction to rugby and
Quins. Shame it doesn't happen anymore, but understandable. The
floodlit 7s at Rosslyn Park is a fun event but sadly not very
doable for me now I've moved out of london

All this is making me pine for a return to the Hong Kong 7s.
After attending many times, I haven't been for a few years. It's
       my target for next year.

Thats what it used to be, and it got totally out of control and
hence why they had to cut it back because of the massive anti
       social behaviour issues for residents.

Was there a review of the weekend in one of the broadsheets by
       an S. Jones?
