Nope. Unless you were cherry picking a post when it didn’t make
       sense to sack him
       Seriously if that’s the best you’ve got don’t bother…

challenges we hadn't had to face before, i.e. losing our key
players to callups and a rash of injuries to senior players,
       plus NEv moonlighting with England.

Well argued. Are you going to point out which bits are factually
incorrect and provide a counter argument or are you just going
       to do this bit again?

I find it hard to believe this is the anticipated change as I’m
not sure either Jerry or Watson cover the roles being left open,
so I wonder if there is more to come. Certainly will be
interesting to see how it all works out.

Happens to all clubs. Everyone has squad call ups and injuries
so this is a complete excuse. Why do we struggle with this vs
       the teams around us?
No one wants us to go bust chasing a title. So I’m definitely
not advocating going for broke signing loads of stars. Even if
we could the cap would prevent a lot of it. Hence you need to
manage your resources well and coach to your best ability.
That’s the difference between the top 4 and us this season
Gustard proved this point too. Same squad with him: mediocre.
       Same squad without: champions
Sometimes just a change makes a huge difference. We’re not at
that point yet to change but next season is a big one for our
       coaching team.

Not to this extent, not for quite some time - and definitely not
       the NEv scenario either.
We have of course had major injury crises in the past. We've
also generally done terribly in those seasons.
You look at the top four and it constitutes three teams barely
affected by callups and injury this season and the side with the
remarkably strong squad. It does make a difference.
We do handle those losses worse than some teams and I'm not
pretending there's no improvements to be made there, but the
disruption did happen and it has a real effect. This is the
first time in ages we've barely had Marcus Smith, we lost
Dombrandt for a lot of games, we had a pack with no carriers for
ages and no Andre for a while, etc. A lot of third/fourth choice
players in important positions got decent game time this season.

Comparing losing key players with sacking Gustard isn’t the same
thing at all. Gustard was coaching a style of rugby that the
players weren’t enjoying or buying into. It wasn’t a happy
squad. Removing him improved everything within the squad.
Removing/losing your best players does not improve things.

Poor Gussy. All he ever wanted was to be part of a group where
there was a clear vision, a deep level of trust, and a dynamic
       environment driven towards high goals…

It's remarkable. We have a slight dip in performance season on
season, and some refuse to acknowledge that we've been blighted
by loss of players and a key coach. Yet we win the Prem in
another season and many are quick to say that it's mainly
because other teams were suffering from callups etc and were
       thus weakened.
