When we won the competition in the 2020/21 season and swept all
before us between January and May that year, we had virtually a
fully fit and available squad. I can only think of Evans who was
unavailable for the last few games. Putting our first choice 15
and 23 out on the pitch each week and having consistency of
selection and combinations undoubtedly played a big part in our
       success.
Our squad has been decimated by injuries for a large part of
this season. Yes, other teams have injuries too, but not many
teams have suffered to the same extent this season.
Availability of your best players is not an excuse but a
legitimate factor when analysing the difference in performance
       year-on-year.

It may be worth rereading your posts.
I am sure that you are, like many of us, a die hard Quins fan.
But, you come across as just a bit entitled. I'm sure that this
       isn't your intention.
But, that is how it comes across.

We also lost Brown and Esterhuizen for the last 6 weeks due to
red cards Esterhuizen came back for the final, Murley was out
for last 5 weeks also injured he came back for the final, there
were lots of changes in the backs during those last 6 or 7
weeks. Pretty much the only consistency in the backs was Tyrone
Green at 15 , Joe Marchant often at 13 occasionally on the wing
and Danny Care at 9 most of those games.

The thing that was consistent in 20/21 that we haven't had this
       year was the pack.
Marler was playing 70-100 minutes per game. Baldwin was
consistently the starting hooker. From memory, we had at least
one of Wilco and Collier for most matches. Lewies played
significantly more than he has this season and Symons was there
consistently, Chis was injured a bit but Lawday covered all
three back row positions and when we lost WEv who topped the
turnover statistics and as something like 3rd in tackles despite
missing the last quarter of the season through injury,
Kenningham stepped up. Dombrandt was available for most of the
       season too.
Contrast that with this season, where Wilco and Collier have
both been out for long periods, we've had endless rotation of
hookers and locks, and have played Luke Wallace and Archie White
on a regular basis because of back row injuries.
We've actually been pretty good at coping with losses in the
backs, Danny aside, but any team is going to struggle with that
much disruption across all three rows of the scrum.

So many excuses when the facts are staring you in the face.
Hopefully next season will be better but it sounds like our 1
great season was when we had all players available and no
       injuries
That was a fluke, so if that’s the only way we can be really
successful then it’s not happening again
By the way if you’re paying more than most other supporters in
the prem then of course you have higher expectations or
“entitlement”. Do you think Newcastle fans get disgruntled at
       not finishing top 4?

We are worse this year than last year but were better last year
than the year before (despite winning the title, we played much
better rugby overall last year and it showed with the vastly
improved points tally). This year we faced a lot of challenges
we hadn't had to face before, i.e. losing our key players to
callups and a rash of injuries to senior players, plus NEv
       moonlighting with England.
Those aren't excuses, those are facts.

Oh - I see. I have just reread your old posts.
It looks like you were a fan of Gustard and said that calls for
       his sacking were mad.
If that is your idea of what we need from a coach, then, I'm
afraid that I am never going to agree with you.
