Don't you think that is a little extreme?
We were only one win off getting a playoff position.

When you look at our position each season
And only being one win off the play offs do people honestly
believe it’s all down to Tabs, no players or other coaches bare
some responsibilities?

Or down to Nick Evans being away with England? Which turned out
to be the wrong short term decision but should pay off in the
longer term in terms of his development as a coach.

It bewilders me that people are so accepting of failure. Nice
guy I’m sure but we’re slowly getting worse each year.

Maybe others are getting better?

Maybe we need coaches that can develop us at a similar rate
then.

Other sides are certainly getting better, meaning when we do
play them, our deficiencies are magnified (IE our defense
against Bath as an example).
There are a few sides who've built stable foundations to really
push on (Sale and Bath) to be a consistent top side next season,
along with the usual faces of Sarries/Tigers. We are in the same
bracket as Exeter and Bristol in that we are on a downward
trajectory in general, and our results support that. (3
Premiership wins in 12 games for 2023).
Do we have a bad team? No, as when fit we are capable. The key
is the coaches actually getting us street smart and hardened for
next season as we've been second best in most areas this season.
For me the only performances that stand out against our
premiership rivals which had us as the better side for more less
the 80 were Sale away and Exeter at HQ. The rest have been
fairly patchy or damn right poor. Over to you coaches...

I honestly don't know what team you have been watching.
During the JK era, I watched people leaving the Stoop in droves
and booing at the end of games.
During the Gustard era we watched 80 minute bore-fests.

If I may give an outsider's perspective.
Most people would agree that you guys winning the Prem was far
from expected. I think I saw that only 6 team have ever won an
away semi final so on that basis only, coming from 4th to win
the whole thing is highly unlikely.
There are very few teams who have managed back to back Prem
wins. Since 2010, only one team has managed it. God knows how!
😉 Last season was therefore always likely to be less
successful than 2020/21. Nevertheless, Quins were the only team
who backed up their 2020/21 Top 4 finish in 2021/22.
As the above graphic shows, the usual position for Quins would
seem to be around 5th/6th. This is therefore a "normal" season.
2020/21 (and to some extent last season) is the outlier.
Looking at other teams who have won the league, it's not unusual
for there to be a subsequent drop off. After 2012, Quins lost a
semi from 3rd, lost a semi from 4th, 8th. Saints were winners in
2014, then lost a semi, 5th, 7th, 9th. Chiefs were winners in
2020, 2nd, 7th, 7th.
tl:dr comparing any season with 2020/21 is likely to leave you
disappointed. Under Tabs, Quins are doing slightly better than
their normal (albeit a small sample of just 2 seasons).
