According to TRP, will be announced in next couple of weeks that
Danny Wilson will have a bigger role at Quins, not just line out
and contact but a wider role

Hard to see how Jerry isn’t on his way after this season. He’s
a legend but our lineout and defensive work has been horrible.

Problem with the lineout is we lack jumpers this season. This
has always been our problem for a while. We generally have a non
jumping back row. This makes it really easy to defend. This
season opponent totally target Lamb. Our driving maul has been
good though

It’s clear something has to change within the coaching set up,
as particularly our forward play has been poor. Not so much the
scrum which has been fairly solid, but the lineout and our
breakdown/defence need serious tuning up.
Whilst he might take on a bigger role, I hope it’s not the case
of Jerry leaving and then someone is spread thin covering
everything, so if Jerry is to go there is another additional
experienced head to come in.

That’s only really true if the back row is drawn from Dommers,
Chis, Lawday and WEv. Kenningham and Wallace are both good
jumpers and often the target for the lineout. I’d say that the
bigger issue has been that we’ve not managed to keep a
consistent engine room - Kenners and all the primary locks have
had significant time out this season, and we’ve also had a fair
bit of rotation of hookers.
If we can keep a consistent selection for a while, I’d expect
the lineout to be a lot more reliable.

Can't see Jerry going unless Munster or Ireland are calling.
Probably not Ireland so maybe Munster but I can't see us giving
him the chop. One bad season doesn't warrant that at all.
I agree you need to continually evolve and there is no place for
sentiment but that is too harsh unless you have Shaun Edwards
coming in to focus on defence, of course

I hope I’m wrong. As a member of the Hookers Union, he is a
hero of mine. But what he covers and what Wilson covers seem
pretty close. If we have both and they do their own thing,
great.

Just a thought but Danny does have Head Coach experience,
although 2+2 doesn’t always equal 4 ......

I hope he doesn’t go into a head coaching role.. Matson has
failed so far completely but Wilson was an awful head coach at
Glasgow..
