I think Quins probably have less disruption to the squad than
anyone except Sarries, which ought to be a good basis for
sorting out the defence and lineout issues.
Not losing NEv for a large chunk of the season should also help.

Clearly the coaches have no idea about prop forwards...
       🤷🤔

My wish for next season is better, more consistent refereeing.
If it's less of a lottery from one game to the next, teams will
be better prepared and games will flow.

Reading in TRP about coaching moves to make more responsibility
for Wilson, doesn’t elude to anyone leaving or just changes to
       roles.

I think we need a specialist coach to ensure that we retain
possession and recycle when the ball is kicked back to us after
we have got a droppy or a 3 pointer.

Maybe. However, our ‘red zone efficiency’ hasn’t been great this
season, so I’d argue that there were probably more occasions
where 3 points would have been a whole lot better than coming
       away with 0.
On the whole, I like the intent behind going for tries, but I
definitely think we need to be better at gauging when 3 points
is the better call. I can think of several games where our
lineout and maul were rubbish, but we kept flogging a dead
horse. It’s that kind of tactical naivety that is costing us.
6th is disappointing, but we’ve had a stop start season with
some notable absences really hurting us and if I’m honest, I
don’t think we ever looked like hitting top form this season.
When you consider that a couple of the narrow losses we had were
the difference between us finishing 6th and 3rd, it’s really
       quite remarkable.

At the same time, our scrum has been superb. What's surprised me
is how many times we've been camped on the oppo's 5m line, won
scrum penalty after scrum penalty, but seen so few yellow cards
       and/or penalty tries.

I think as QC says above, red zone efficiency is a massive
achilles heel for us. Too many forward drives close to the line
that go nowhere when mixing up by flinging out to the backs or
taking a 3 pointer. Sides know what we're going to do and set up
       accordingly.
I've also lost track of the times sides have gone through the
middle of a ruck and got a 20 metre gain in territory against
us. I also think having extra line out jumpers is a big plus for
us when we can as, again mentioned above, be too obvious with
only one jumper. That keeps Kenners in the side for me along
with one of Lewies or Launchbury and I'd keep Dommers in the
line as well, rather than chucking him out to the back line. If
we have 3 jumpers, sides can't predict so easily. Hammond also
       helps with this.
I think the strategy we used up at Sale, way back in the autumn
is the blue print. Great performance and all clicked well.

Agreed. Your point that ‘Sides know what we’re going to do and
set up accordingly’ is a big part of it. They know that if they
can ride it out for a few phases, we’ll probably get a bit
desperate to convert which often leads to us making bad
decisions and coming away with nothing.
Even being a little less predictable would be an improvement.
Wilson has a big job with the lineout. I think Launchbury will
be an excellent addition in general, but he isn’t going to solve
anything for us when it comes to our attacking lineouts. He’s
not a great jumper and if he starts, we’re going to be relying
on his partner and the back row to compete. As others have said,
that makes Kenners a bit of a necessity (not that I have a
problem with him starting) and probably means Dombrandt needs to
       take a more active role.
Signings wise, I’m very happy with the four we’ve brought in.
Plus the fleeting appearances from Lynagh, Lewies and Chisholm
showed what we’ve been missing. Those three plus Green will be
like new signings if they can get/stay fit.
