I'm not a football fan but I attend the occasional game with
friends at a variety of lower and non-league clubs.
Every game I have ever been to has singing/chanting/language
that would get you thrown out of The Stoop.
There's a massive cultural divide.
Footbal clubs sharing grounds frequently doesn't work so
football/rugby is a really bad mix.

I'm not sure that we should take any.
If we drop to a 10 team league, then the clubs profits will
probably drop by 10%.
This would mean that the ticket prices, memberships, f+b will
need to increase by 10% to cover it.
If we take on more players, then the clubs expenses will go up
and this will have to be paid for - basically by us.

There will already being conversations going on with LI players
and their agents incase it doesn't work out I am sure......the
likes of Pearson would be in much demand...

Could probably see him going to France if that was the case, Not
many teams probably have the budget left that he probably would
command now.
Cunningham-South would be my pick. We've lacked a good out and
out 8 to push Alex and I think he could do that here.

given we've seen the likes of Twelvetrees move to Ealing, I
would actually like to see any players affected from Wasps,
Worcester (and LI if they do end up missing the deadline) to be
offered contracts in the championship. Some of the funding for
that to be supplied by the RFU. That has the benefit of
strengthening the Championship into a decent competition
(usually it's down to between the top two teams well before the
end of the season. Make that a stronger comp to help push the
game. I'd also like to see the broadcast rights for it tied to
the Prem rights. Show 1 game a week from the Championship for
every 3 in the Prem. That will help to drive interest & get more
people involved.

If we lose L Irish from the Prem, and gain Ealing and Jersey
then we'd return to a 12 team league.

Without wishing to be a nerd, that's not necessarily true.
Percentages don't simply transfer. It depends on the relative
number.

My apologies to Jersey Reds and any other top Championship sides
that have the credentials and desire to join the Premiership. I
haven’t been paying enough attention to events in that league.
I was only using Ealing as an example as I know they have
aspirations.
The pitch at the Gtech stadium looked its usual lush
velvety self on Sunday when I was there. Not sure what
complaints the Bees can have and none of the supporters I spoke
to had heard anything. In fact a couple weren’t even aware that
rugby was played there.
I think for the future of the Premiership that if clubs
can put forward a sustainable business plan that is acceptable
to whoever it may concern, they should be given the chance to
compete. I believe there is a danger that with so few games the
ticket prices will end up so high in order to break even that
not many will be willing to cough up for them.
The minor cup games never get many through the turnstiles
compared to league matches.

Agreed. Pearson is a fine player but we don't need another 7. We
need competition at 8 and players who can break the gain line
and Cunningham-South fits the bill.
Perhaps Fischetti with an eye on replacing Marler...
I could also see a short-term deal for a centre (Van Rensburg)
making sense.
Anyway, hopefully Irish survive and such speculation is
redundant.
