That looks like an amazing achievement in isolation, but is it
actually healthy for the women's game overall, given the utter
devastation that England France are able to wreak against the
other participants?
Might it not make sense for World Rugby to figure out some sort
of central funding to level the playing field a bit?

Was it bad for men's rugby when no-one could live with the All
Blacks or the Boks at the start of professional rugby? And the
NH teams couldn't live with Australia.
I appreciate what you're asking, KP, but I don't feel it is more
than a short term problem. I would think WR would be hoping
individual countries will up their investment in an attempt to
level the playing field rather than sit back and expect someone
else to do the work for them. And for England and France, what
they are demonstrating is what you can do if you put the
resources into the game. These countries have made significant
commitment of resources and are reaping the rewards.

Exactly DOK. Ireland women got the wooden spoon yet we’re told
their setup in the men’s game is exemplary. Any reason why they
couldn’t do the same for the women’s game?

Money. When DOK says "resource" he means "money" but he is too
polite to actually say it. 🙂
It's funny how (nearly) everyone moans about Wray etc. pumping
money into Sarries, for instance, and inflating wages forcing
others to keep up or fall by the wayside. Supporters complaining
that the business model is broken because club rugby can't fund
itself. Yet that's pretty much the model being proposed for
women's rugby.
4,000 people watched Scotland; another record crowd. 3,200
watched Italy; whether this was a record crowd wasn't mentioned.

It was an excellent afternoon, a great crowd, great atmosphere,
great family feel. None of the usual corporate hospitality types
who have zero interest in the game.
A Mexican wave or 3 which some find annoying but I just ignore.
It took probably an hour and a half to clear the stadium as the
players were still out signing autographs and having photos
taken.
I hope the take two women's 6 nations games there next season.

There was mention from Sara Orchard during the build up of a new
competition to take place annually, called WXV
HTML https://www.world.rugby/tournaments/wxv.
While the format is a
little convoluted, it should give the chance for the T2 & T3
teams aiming to take part in the next World Cup a chance to get
some meaningful competition & development on a regular basis.

The scorelines have been one sided, but the matches have had
periods of real competition.
Italy pushed France very close, and Wales were dominant for the
first 25 minutes against England. Greater fitness was decisive
in the end, but more time training as pros will fix that in time

There was a serious medical incident in Block L2/L3 (CPR,
Defibrillator, Oxygen) towards the end of the first half,
anybody nearby, I think they revived the guy and hopefully he is
now recovered.
