To be fair to the club, the poor attendance would have been in
part due to the big game being postponed, so they were promoting
that when normally they'd be fully focussed on bsko. Poor league
form probably doesn't help either, in terms of flogging tickets
in the couple of weeks before the game.
I'd rather we didn't have it, but I'd rather have BG and BSKO
then see the club go the way of Worcester and Wasps.
Most of all though I'd like to see the team start playing
consistently well again

Maybe the point of "bringing in all these new fans" is to
replace the season ticket holders who feel they've been priced
out?

Think there’s a lot to your point
A single match ticket ( has been) more expensive than a season
ticket for the same game
We always get told at state of play that the ST deal is almost
too good
Maybe the desire is to get more buying individual tickets

I think this is their aim. They certainly want to sell ST's but
the real customer they want are the visitors/work outing type
crowd as they are more likely to spend on things a ST might not
feel the need to. I don't know the demographic data, but I
imagine most ST holders live a fairly close commute to the Stoop
so they are more likely to eat before they come out and have a
few beers at home if at all rather than spend in the ground.

Not sure that applies to the STs in our group.
As we all live within an easy walk/bus ride to the Stoop, we all
tend to meet up and have a few beers. I am not a great one for
sitting at home on my own with a can of Special Brew and some
Pot Noodles.
I think that the people that tend to come to the ground for the
game and then go straight afterwards tends to be the guys who
drive.

Isn't that the most important thing about rugby though?
Watch a tough game on the pitch as rivals and then all meet as
one and socialise afterwards.
The French call it the "Third Half".
The first and second halves are fought on the pitch. But they
are merely the warm up to the most important half in the bar
afterwards.
Maybe I am just an old f4rt that is still stuck in the amateur
era. But, I still enjoy this approach to the game.

Whether we drive or come by bus/train we're always in and out of
the Stoop for the game. There's just far more choice and quality
of food/drink elsewhere, even within walking distance.

my personal view, I hate games at the big stoop for Quins, I can
never replicate the excellent seats we have at the little stoop
or the atmosphere, the constant up and down of those who just
want to drink or cant control their bladders as they had too
many pints. Missed several key moment due to the constant
standing up in front to let someone out for a toilet break and
to refuel with more beer. I have seats on the half way line west
stand 6 rows in, I was again put about 10 yards from the touch
line and have to watch the video screen for anything happening
up the other end east side. I dont mind it for the xmas game but
summer now as well. I pay extra for great tickets at the stoop
and now have two games with rubbish seats and rugby experience.
Add in the friday night games that I struggle to make and it
gets to the point it's just not worth the cost. I get why they
do it but please just do the xmas game.
